Meet The Crew!

Juan Olano, CEO & Instructor

Our mission is to reduce the drowning mortality of babies and toddlers in south Florida. Drowning is the #1 cause of unintentional death for toddlers in south Florida, so we encourage all parents in south Florida to take advantage of this program. Our team will assist your child to learn a lifelong skill that will save their lives.

We welcome all to be a part of the Happy Swims Family!

Martin Rivas, Instructor

I first started out as a swim instructor for adults and it was great helping people who struggled in the water. Many had children who didn’t know how to swim and were afraid of the water. After some time instructing I decided to teach kids, swimming is such an important skill to know especially living in a place like Florida. Being able to work for Happy Swims has opened up opportunities to help kids learn how to enjoy the water and improve their skills.

Josemil Serrano, Instructor

I am excited to have the chance to work with Happy Swims because swimming is so important here in South Florida. It is not just a fun leisure activity, but something that can help save lives. I hope to teach water safety and technique to the youth I come across on this journey!

Tristen Nador, Instructor

I grew up in the water, swimming has always been a part of my life and a passion of mine. I have been a lifeguard/swim instructor for over 4 years, and teaching kids/adults how to swim is not only one of the most important things I have done, but also one of my greatest pleasures. I look forward to working with you and your kids!

Kayla Mendez, Administration Director

Growing up in Miami, I have spent a lot of time in the ocean and pool. Because of this, water safety has always been important to my family. I was a lifeguard and swim instructor myself so I know the impacts of having proper training around water first hand. Working as a Happy Swims Administrator has allowed me to create connections between parents, kids and instructors to ensure my community knows the importance of water safety and proper training. Knowing that my efforts in helping to facilitate these connections makes a difference in my community is my favorite part of the job.

Javier Manuel Gómez, Administration Director

I am currently finishing a Bachelors in Psychology with aspirations to get into law school. Back in the summer of 21’, I began working with Santiago as an instructor. There’s a wonderful satisfaction and sense of accomplishment that arises when you help a child learn to swim, or face their fears of the water. I’ve been involved with swimming and the ocean most of my life, and I hope to pass on this passion for the two onto others. Although I am working on the administration side of things now, I will continue to strive to make an impact on the South Florida community and spread the love for swimming

Romina Dichio, Marketing
