Growing up in Miami, I spent a lot of time in the ocean and pool. Because of this, water safety has always been important to my family. I was a lifeguard and swim instructor myself so I know the impacts of having proper training around water firsthand. Working as a Happy Swims Administrator has allowed me to create connections between parents, kids, and instructors to ensure my community knows the importance of water safety and proper training. Knowing that my efforts in helping to facilitate these connections make a difference in my community is my favorite part of the job.

My dad was a lifeguard growing up so when I was a kid he taught me and my siblings the basics of swimming and water safety. As a kid, I would get home from school and right after finishing my homework, it was pool time. I’d always test myself on how fast I could swim from one side of the pool to the other and how long I could hold my breath. I loved spending time in the water and improving my swim skills.
I believe learning to swim as a child is insanely important. Not just for water safety reasons but because I think every kid should have the opportunity to have fun while swimming, the same way I did. Watching how each child gains confidence and overcomes their fears of the water is what makes me love my job most.

I am working at Happy Swims because it helps keep kids from drowning and gives kids another skill that they may need later on in life. One thing I really enjoy about Happy Swims is the connection the instructor gets to make with the student and seeing the students progression is very thrilling to see. I believe not only is it good for kids to learn to swim at an early age for safety but it also shows some aspects of life skills we all need to use daily like hard work, listening, improving, and positivity working towards a goal

As someone who has been an excellent swimmer my whole life, it would mean a lot to spread my knowledge about the water, while expressing how important it is to be safe while in it. Working with Happy Swims shows what a team effort is truly about and how far it can get you. I am excited and proud to work with this team and be part of a small yet growing group.

I became an instructor with Happy Swims to help children stay safe in the water while having fun. Teaching kids how to swim and seeing their progress is one of the greatest rewards as well as forming a bond with them and the parents.

Growing up in the Arizonian desert having a pool was a huge part of our summer fun. I learned how to swim at 2 years old and I still remember how much fun I had with my own swim instructors, those memories have stuck with me all these years. Being a part of the Happy Swims Team gives me the opportunity to create these memories with others and teach a valuable skill that aids in safety around the water.

I love watching the progress and success of my students as it rewards and motivates me to continue teaching. I enjoy the opportunity to make a positive impact on my ’ lives by helping them grow and develop their swimming schools. Teaching allows me to continuously learn and grow my understanding of the sport, being an instructor is a rewarding job and brings me happiness to give kids and their parents confidence in the water.

I have practiced swimming all my life and I feel very happy to teach based on my experience to other children who are entering this aquatic world. My favorite style is butterfly, which is the premier style that I practiced. So much so, that I went runner-up in the 200m butterfly in my country; Happy swims is the perfect team, in the end, we all have the same goal, to help and teach.
